Harry And Meghan’s Latest Appearance Just Provided A Further Look Into Their LA Home

If their artwork is anything to go by, the royals are embracing their new home state

Ever since their royal exit, and subsequent move to California, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been keeping a relatively low profile, starting afresh with their one-year-old son Archie Harrison on the west coast. But, that doesn’t mean the pair hasn’t been busy, with reports they’ve signed deals with both Netflix and Spotify to produce uplifting content over the next few years.

This week, royal couple began to make their first appearances of 2021—rumour has it the Duke of Sussex is set to appear on James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke—and their most recent Zoom call has provided a rare glimpse into their Los Angeles abode.

Surprising a group of youth poets participating in a Get Lit poetry class, the couple revealed a surprising new detail about their home and we can only assume Meghan’s love of her home state had something to do with the artwork of choice.

“Guess who surprised our poetry class this weekend?!” the organisation wrote on its Instagram. “It was the best weekend EVER! Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, were magic and kind and interested in poetry! The Duchess even shared some of her favourite poetry lines. We are so grateful for their visit in honour of Black History Month. It goes down as most epic experience in Get Lit history!!!”

The video call showed the couple in front of a stone fireplace, while on the wall behind them was an artwork of a bear hugging the state of California, created by Etsy seller Nicholas and Riley and inspired by Francis Silverwood’s “I Love You, California.” Recently, local artists used the bear image to raise funds for wildfire relief in the state.

The family of the makers of the print shared their enthusiasm on Instagram, writing, “Hi All! I am taking over my Dads IG for this one post. Recently the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, a.k.a. Harry and Meghan, got their royal hands on one of my Dads framed I love you California’s. He doesn’t think it’s a big deal but it is. A lot of famous people have his work but this one is different, they’re royalty! Plus they’re the super cute and fun ones.”

The print is now exclusively available at Big Daddy’s Antiques and retails for $1,295.

It’s not the first time the couple has shared a sneak peek inside their Beverly Hills home. Last year, Harry and Meghan surprised Crisis Text Line staff by joining one of their Zoom meetings and, luckily for us, volunteer Ricky Neal shared a photo of the meeting on social media.

“It’s not every day that Meghan and Harry jump into your work meeting and champion the work you do! Blessed to still be working during these crazy times! [sic],” he wrote.

Thanks to Ricky’s photo, behind Harry and Meghan you can see a glimpse of the decor in their current home—and while its much darker than the room we saw in the Get Lit session, the pair’s artwork and decor are equally as chic.

The pair also recently revealed (accidentally) that they were redecorating their California home last year, while Harry surprised Invictus Games athletes on Zoom.

The organisation posted a video from the call, with viewers noticing two large square dark navy and light grey swatches on the wall just behind the royal’s left shoulder.

We wonder which colour they went for?
