Forget Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga as Hollywood’s most-loved onscreen pairing, because Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie are here to take their crown. The Once Upon A Time…In Hollywood costars are set to reunite in the upcoming film Babylon from La La Land director Damien Chazelle—and we’re already counting down until it’s release.
According to Deadline the lead role originally went to Emma Stone but due to “scheduling reasons”, Robbie is gearing up to take her place alongside Pitt.
Below, everything we know about Babylon.
What Is Babylon’s Plot?
Babylon, as reported by Deadline, is “a period, R-rated drama, set in the shifting moment in Hollywood when the industry turned from silent film to talkies.”
The story will be set in the 1920s, documenting the rise and fall of both fictional and historical characters.
Who Will Robbie And Pitt Play In The Upcoming Project?
Robbie, if confirmed for the role, would play Clara Bow, one of the first stars of the silent film era, per The Hollywood Reporter.
Just like his Cliff Booth character in the 2019 Quentin Tarantino-directed film Once Upon A Time, Pitt’s Babylon character is fictional but based on the ’20s screen star John Gilbert. THR describes his part as a silent film star “who fails to make the transition to the new technology.”
When Will Babylon Be Released?
Originally, the blockbuster was slated for a December 2021 release, but considering production and casting is yet to be completed, we may be waiting a little while longer for the film to premiere.
