Margot Robbie has given us a taste of Barbie on the 80th Annual Golden Globes red carpet.
Dressed in a stunning light pink, floor length custom Chanel gown, the Australian actress has chosen to give another nod to her character ahead of the highly anticipated film’s release.
While Robbie’s red carpet looks never fail to impress, the actress’ Barbie-inspired look brings a little playfulness into her more elegant red carpet attire.
Since the first Barbie photos were released, the world can’t seem to get enough of these pretty in pink outfits—and Robbie seems to know it. Whether she’s giving a playful nod to the Barbiecore phenomenon or simply obsessed with the pink aesthetic like everyone else, Robbie’s 2023 Golden Globe look is one for fashion history books.
Robbie also isn’t straying from her signature Chanel looks, with the latest red carpet ensemble featuring a wide-strapped halter neck, silver star embellishment, delicate tulle detailing and shimmering sequins. Accessories-wise, Robbie kept things simple with a thin gold ring and wore her blonde hair in a relaxed, wavy style.
Barbiecore aside, if this look says anything—it’s that the girl is still truly in her Chanel era.
But Robbie wasn’t the only one dressed in pink this year.
Inventing Anna and Ozark star, Julia Garner selected a baby pink Gucci gown with a corset-style bustier, while The Crown’s Elizabeth Debicki chose to go with a strapless, flamingo pink Dior design that felt very Princess Diana.
Not only because of the Princess Di-approved silhouette, but because Debicki opted for one of the late-Princess Of Wales’ favourite designers.
Robbie, who is nominated for a Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for her role in Damien Chazelle’s Babylon, grabbed photos with several other A-listers on the red carpet, including Blonde’s Ana de Armas and The Only Murders In The Building star Selena Gomez.
She’s up against Anya Taylor-Joy (The Menu), Emma Thompson (Good Luck to You, Leo Grande), Lesley Manville (Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris) and Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All at Once) for the best actress award.
Her Golden Globes appearance comes ahead of a return to home soil next week, when Robbie is expected to walk the red carpet in Sydney for the Australian premiere of Babylon, in which she plays silent film star Nellie LaRoy.
As for Barbie – well, we’ll have to wait for July 20 this year to watch that one, but Robbie’s press tour looks are bound to be plastic fantastic.
