Greta Gerwig’s adaptation of 1868 novel Little Women may have given the Louisa May Alcott classic a refreshing spin but that doesn’t mean she purposefully included a plastic water bottle and Hydro Flask as part of the set.
Fans of the silver screen hit couldn’t believe their eyes after a TikTok video revealed that the modern utilities were accidentally left in the background of a pivotal scene and the surprising discovery has been doing the rounds on social media ever since.

In a gaffe reminiscent of the famous Game of Thrones coffee cup debacle, Little Women super-fan, Madelyn Rancourt, spotted the accident and shared her findings in a now-viral video.
The scene in question sees four out of five members of the March family – Jo (Saoirse Ronan), Meg (Emma Watson), Amy (Florence Pugh) and mother Marmee (Laura Dern) – meet their neighbour Laurie (Timothée Chalamet) for the first time.
But sat beneath a period painting and amongst dusty books, lie the accidental bottles – most likely to have been left by cast members.
Fans of the 2019 drama swiftly shared their surprise at the findings on Twitter with a number of viewers joking that Laurie was ahead of the time.
Rancourt’s theory has yet to be proven by film producers but she claims to have seen the Gerwig remake seven times in the cinema and even went to a Q&A with cast members in New York, where they discussed the very scene in great detail – skipping the whole bottle fiasco.
Not quite the modern take Gerwig was going for, huh?
