For Lily Collins, it was a long-sleeved lace Ralph Lauren design that saw her into the next, exciting chapter of her life.
The 32-year-old married her long-time partner Charlie McDowell, 38, in a top secret ceremony over the weekend in Dunton Hot Springs, Colorado. The pair were engaged last September, with the private nuptials rounding out their whirlwind love story.
Sharing three new images to Instagram this week (and concurrently announcing the nuptials had indeed taken place), Lily’s bridal design was revealed in full—the stunning high-neck gown featured delicate lace, a high-neck and long sleeves. To add, she wore a detachable lace veil. The fitted silhouette included a small train, which looked incredibly striking against a backdrop of forest greenery.
Ever the minimalist, Lily kept her beauty look simple with natural makeup and her hair in a slick low bun with a middle parting.
Sharing some words on Instagram, Lily wrote: “I’ve never wanted to be someone’s someone more than I do yours, and now I get to be your wife. On September 4th, 2021 we officially became each other’s forever. I love you beyond @charliemcdowell.”
She added several other captions to subsequent images: “Never been happier,” she wrote next to a picture of her and Charlie laughing together during their post-nuptial photoshoot.
In another post, she penned: “What started as a fairytale, is now my forever reality. I’ll never be able to properly describe how otherworldly this past weekend was, but magical is a pretty good place to start…”
The newlyweds first went public with their relationship back in August 2019 and haven’t looked back.
In July last year Collins shared a picture with Charlie on his birthday, writing: “You’ve opened my eyes and deepened my heart. You constantly inspire me to dream big and go outside of my comfort zone. Every day is an adventure with you and I can’t wait to explore more of the world together (when we can). I love you so much…”
Barely two months later, the pair announced they were engaged. McDowell popped the question while the pair were on a road trip in New Mexico.
Announcing the news on Instagram, Charlie wrote: “In a time of uncertainty and darkness you have illuminated my life. I will forever cherish my adventure with you.”
