It’s been almost nine months since last year’s The Bachelor Australia wrapped up, and the nation witnessed the simultaneous heartbreak and romance from the finale that saw Locky Gilbert give his final rose to Irena Srbinovska, after declaring his love for both her and runner-up Bella Verelis.
And while some may miss last year’s drama-filled season, this year is looking to fly somewhat under the radar (no pun intended). Heading back to the show’s roots, with a regular Australian fella finding love, rather than a plethora of franchise alumni or local celebrities.
Introducing Jimmy Nicholson.
Announced as this year’s lucky lad on March 4, Nicholson will lead the ninth season of The Bachelor Australia, that has been filmed in a new location, a $6.3 million, five-acre property in Sydney’s Dural known as Le Chateau.
Before the new season hits our screens, it’s time to familiarise yourself with the lad whose face is set to take over every advertisement break on Australian TV for the next few months.
But fret not, we’ve done the digging for you. Below, everything you need to know about The Bachelor Australia 2021, Jimmy Nicholson.

Under the Instagram handle @jimmynicholson, die-hard fans of the dating show will already know that he’s being followed by a number of Aussie reality TV alums.
This includes Hugh Sheridan, Samuel Johnson, Married At First Sight stars Mikey Pembroke and Jake Edwards as well as last year’s Bachelor runner-up, Bella Varelis.
What Is Jimmy Nicholson Looking For On The Bachelor Australia?
Apparently, the pandemic and Australia’s lockdown through 2020 served as an awakening for Nicholson, who realised that while “his career is important, love is even more so.”
“The journey ahead will be one of the most challenging experiences that I have ever undertaken, however, I am very excited to meet someone that I could potentially spend the rest of my life with,” Nicholson said.
But as for what the contestants will be looking forward to, Bachelor host Osher Günsberg shared his take on Nicholson, welcoming him with open arms. In his own announcement, Günsberg wrote: “Get ready to soar with airline pilot @jimmynicholson as he navigates the turbulent skies of love searching for his co-pilot in life. And yes, he’s as dreamy as you think he is.”
The Bachelor Australia is set to air on Network 10 around end of July or beginning of August this year.
