‘The Nanny’ Could Be Making A Comeback!

It's been 25 years since the show first aired

The flashy girl from Flushing could be set to return to our screens, according to The Nanny star Fran Drescher.

Reminiscing about the iconic ‘90s sitcom in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Drescher, who co-created the series based on her own experiences as a nanny, hinted strongly at a reboot.

“We’re talking about it. Peter and I are talking about it,” she said of her ex-husband and The Nanny co-creator Peter Marc Jacob.

The 60-year-old actress added: “We’re working on a very big project. It’s going to be very exciting for the fans, but I’m not at liberty to announce it yet. But it’s gonna be big.”

Of course, rebooting The Nanny could pose one or two plot problems – namely, that her young charges have all grown up.

“We can’t just pick up where we left off,” Drescher acknowledges. “But in a way, that could be really good because the show can have a whole fresh bend to it.”

The Nanny ended in 1999, after six seasons, with Fran Fine marrying her boss, Maxwell Sheffield, and having children of her own.
