We loved The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt – and we weren’t the only ones. After its 2013 release, it went on to be a bestseller, and it picked up a little prize called the Pulitzer, too. Now the first trailer for the highly-anticipated film adaption has just been released and it’s as riveting and haunting as you’d expect.
The Goldfinch tells the tale of Theo, a young boy who is orphaned after an explosion in an art gallery. While Theo survives the attack, in the ensuing chaos, he takes the piece of art his mother had most wanted him to see, Carel Fabritius 1654 painting of a small bird on a perch, The Goldfinch.
