Finally, We Have A Release Date For ‘The Crown’ Season 3

And a new teaser trailer

After what feels like forever, we finally have a confirmed release date for The Crown season three. The period drama, which documents the life of the British royal family, will return to Netflix on Sunday, November 17 with Oscar-award winning actress Olivia Colman taking over as Queen Elizabeth II from Claire Foy.

As well as the air date, the streaming service released a teaser trailer for the upcoming season, showing Colman in action as HRH for the first time.

Season three will see all of the show’s current actors be replaced to fit with the timeline. Tobias Menzies take over for Matt Smith as Prince Philip and Helena Bonham Carter for Vanessa Kirby as Princess Margaret.

Producers have also confirmed that a young Princess Diana will appear by the final episodes of season three, before becoming the show’s star in seasons four and five. Although season five is yet to be made official, Netflix content chief Ted Sarandos has told The Hollywood Reporter that their current plan is to make six seasons of the hit show, spanning the entirety of the Queen’s life.
