The Cast Of ‘Charmed’: Where Are They now?

If you haven't heard already, The CW announced it's developing a reboot of the 1998 - 2006 fantasy teen flick, Charmed screaming. The new series is reportedly taking place in the 1970s with a whole new cast of witches. Sadly, this means the cast we all know and love won't be returning. In recognition of the original show, we decided to investigate what they've all been up to

The former 90210 star gave up magic after only three seasons (supposedly because of a rift with co-star, Alyssa Milano) and embraced ‘real life’ by starring in a number of reality TV shows.

Shannen was the first contestant to leave Dancing with the Stars in 2010 and she joined forces again with BFF Holly Marie Combs in travel show, Off the Map. Her most controversial move though was hosting, Breaking up with Shannen Doherty – and yes it’s exactly how it sounds. The show where she helped people dump their partners…

Aside from her reality television appearances, Shannen has been in varied low budget movies and even reprised her bad girl role as Brenda Walsh on the 90210 reboot for eight episodes in 2008.

The actress, who also suffers from Crohn’s disease, revealed in March 2015 that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Post-Charmed, Holly is now best known as Lucy Hale’s mum, Ella, in this generation’s cult teen drama, Pretty Little Liars since 2010.

She’s also made cameos in Hell’s Kitchen in 2014 and on the big screen with Ocean’s Eleven, where she played herself being taught poker by Brad Pitt.

Her personal life has been closely connected to Charmed by marrying crew member David Donoho in 2004 (they divorced in 2011). She also owns a ranch with Shannen Doherty.

Star of the famous sitcom, Who’s the Boss, Alyssa has kept up appearances since Charmed wrapped up popping up in many different TV shows and films like her cameo in Gary Marshall’s all-star cast of News Years Eve.

Her most recent television work includes the US remake of BBC drama Mistresses, My Name is Earl and as a guest judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race. She even hosted Project Runway: All Stars for a few seasons.

Behind the scenes, Alyssa is an outspoken advocate for vegetarianism, PETA and various other humanitarian issues – starting the #MeToo on Twitter after the Harvey Weinstein allegations had surfaced. She’s even written a graphic novel, Hacktivist, which is supposedly in development for the small screen. Stay tuned.

Replacing Shannen as another sister in 2001, Rose starred in Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s experimental Grindhouse project, the Conan the Barbarian remake, Nip/Tuck and more recently, Once Upon a Time.

Shannon has also given her voice to the game, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare – Exo Zombies.

She also famously dated Marilyn Manson for several years until 2001, citing “lifestyle differences”.

In 2018 she starred in the reality show Citizen Rose on the E! network and released her autobiography Brave which follows her journey as a young woman trying to navigate an industry full of sexual harassment. McGowan was also one of the first women to come forward about her experiences with Harvey Weinstein and has been vocal about the predatory behaviour of men in Hollywood.

Who couldn’t forget the lovely Leo who stole our hearts as the hunky handyman/white lighter? Well Brian has been reasonably busy since his time as Piper’s love interest from appearing on shows like The Closer, Castle, CSI: Miami and Mad Men.

Brian’s also been in a few low-budget films like Ashes, You’re So Cupid, Gabe the Cupid Dog and various other forgettable titles.

Charmed season 3 saw the addition of another character, Cole. The show’s on-again, off-again bad boy couldn’t seem to decide what team he was batting for.

Since then, Julian’s most prominent role was as handsome Dr Christian Troy in Nip/Tuck, which he was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Television Series Drama. He’s also appeared alongside Sandra Bullock in Premonition and as the evil Doctor Doom in two of the original Fantastic Four movies.

Did we mention, he’s an Aussie? Not only the son of former Australian prime minister, William McMahon, Julian was also married to Dannii Minogue for a year in the 1990s.

Remember the helpful San Francisco Police Officer, Darryl Morris? Well these days he’s kept a fairly low profile, randomly appearing in a few shows like The Bad Girl’s Guide, The Bernie Mac Show and Without a Trace.

He also hosts various events including the Chicago Music Awards and was a national spokesman for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.

Did you know that Kaley’s first major TV role was as the next young witch to join Charmed? Unfortunately/fortunately the gig didn’t last long, as she only appeared in a few episodes due to cancellation.

But it all worked in her favour as the next year she joined The Big Bang Theory playing Penny and the rest is history. She’s now the highest-paid actress on TV, not bad for an apprentice witch?
