Calling All ‘Love Island’ Fans, You’re About To Be Hooked On New Reality Series ‘The Cabins’

The bosses behind the mega-hit are launching a winter series to fill the void

Earlier this year, the global pandemic disrupted some of the many things we had been eagerly waiting for, from travel plans to the Olympic Games. But, one that many of us had to really come to term with, the cancellation of Love Island UK

But fear not: The bosses behind the mega-hit are launching a winter series to fill the void. The Cabins, set to premiere early next year, is based on reality series Let Love Rule, which is based in both Sweden and the Netherlands and is offering up an entirely new format than what we’ve come to know from Love Island.

It will follow a group of singles who will have to move in together on the first date. We can already ~feel~ the drama.

And as the name suggests, each couple will be placed in a luxurious log cabin with hot-tubs and idyllic views of the British countryside – only, without any technology in sight.

The official description reads, “From heartfelt moments or declarations of love, to awkward silences and difficult dating conversations, viewers will be able to follow all the antics and find out if the sparks fly or quickly fizzle out.”

Paul Mortimer, ITV’s Head of Digital Channels and Acquisitions said: “This is a fantastic new format which challenges young people to delete apps and attempt to date face-to-face, with no distractions.”

Another source told The Sun that the show persuades people to get to know each other without social media apps and the internet. Can you imagine such a thing!

“After 24 hours together they will be able to decide whether they stay together for a bit longer or move on to someone new,” the source detailed.

According to reports, if couples are able to stay together for “up to four days” then other singles will enter the cabin of the happy couple – ie: cause a major shake-up.

Filming will begin in the next few months, so stay tuned! In the meantime, here are our picks of some of the most underrated series to watch right now
