They say that good things come to those who wait—the contestants starring on The Bachelor Australia 2023 can certainly vouch for that.
After a hefty delay due to a clash with another Network Ten show, the new season is finally here with a new cast vying for love with an eligible bachelor. In case you’ve been hiding under a rock for the last six months, you’ll no doubt already be aware that the new season has thrown us a curveball by delivering not one, but three bachelors—Felix Von Hofe, Jed McIntosh and Thomas Malucell. Each have a group of stunning single women who they’ll get to know over the course of the season, ultimately picking their perfect match with a final rose.
Yes, it sounds like chaos, but we’d expect nothing less from a franchise that’s rapidly declining in popularity (the 2021 season finale garnered 629,000 metro viewers—more than 200,000 less than its 2020 finale). But will the producers really keep us hooked this time? Choosing to cast three white men as the show’s leads drew plenty of controversy when they made the announcement in mid-2022, so it’s not exactly off to the best start.
The series will include new elements we haven’t seen on the show before, with rumours it’s even binned the traditional red carpet entrance where each contestant is introduced, per So Dramatic!.
Suffice to say it’ll be interesting to see how it goes down—but before we make a judgement call, let’s meet the contestants.
