Everything You Need To Know About The 2023 Season Of ‘The Bachelor’ Australia

Or should we say, 'The Bachelors'.

The Bachelor Australia is now entering its 10th season (yes, an alarming reminder Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich’s season played out way back in 2013), and somehow, the show has somehow managed to stay relevant—albeit hanging by a thread at times.

Last year, we saw 2021 bachelor Jimmy Nicholson ride off into the sunset with his chosen winner, Holly Kingston. Despite sparking a fair amount of controversy last year over their views on OnlyFans, the pair are still going strong and even got engaged recently. Meanwhile aforementioned Tim and Anna from the first season are now married with a baby girl, while season three’s Sam and Snezana Wood have had three babies together.

We also can’t forget Matty Johnson and Laura Byrne of season five, who also share two young daughters. Season eight’s Locky Gilbert and Irena Srbinovska are also going strong (and still going on plenty of hikes, of course).

We have to admit, five couples to come out of nine seasons isn’t a bad ratio—so we have hope the upcoming season will bring the same success.

Here, everything we know (so far) about 2023’s Bachelor Australia—from its leading men to when you can watch it.

Who will the Australian bachelor for 2023 be?

Network 10 announced in mid-2022 that it would introduce not one, but three men as the new bachelor leads: Felix Von Hofe, Jed McIntosh and Thomas Malucelli.

If you thought one of them looked familiar, you’re not wrong. Von Hofe, 27 is a Melbourne-based basketball player who was snapped on what looked to be a date with a blonde woman with a rose in her hand last May, which sparked rumours he would be joining the show.

Once it was out in the open, the pro-basketballer explained what it was like to be on the show: “I’m really enjoying having proper, one-on-one dates and getting to know people, rather than just the Instagram DMs and all of that sort of stuff.”

Meanwhile 35-year-old Malucelli is a fitness and life coach whose LinkedIn page states that he “found a company that speciali[s]ed in natural nutritional products and detoxification.”

Finally, passionate muso Jed McIntosh finishes off the all-new lineup. He’s a drummer who has been playing for as long as he can remember, and he’s now part of Melbourne-based alt-pop band Mood Monroe alongside his brother Jackson and friend Bailey Sampson.

While Network Ten’s twist in bringing three men into the show could boost ratings after several declining seasons, the casting has been called out for its lack of diversity—though this isn’t a one-time thing, it’s a major downfall of the show throughout it’s 10 seasons.

Who are the 2023 contestants?

With more than 25 women vying for one of three hearts, the cast is jam-packed this year. Each bachelor will have a group of women they can date and choose from, although details about how this will work in each episode are scarce. Guess we’ll have to watch to find out. See all the contestants here

Who are the contestants on The Bachelor Australia 2022?

After Network 10 put out its casting call for male and female contestants to come forward, we have no doubt we’ll soon find out who’ll be in the running for this year’s final rose. We’ll update you as more information rolls in!

When will The Bachelor Australia premiere in 2023?
