Get In Line, Ali Wong And Steven Yeun Have Teamed Up To Star In New Dramedy Series

Consider us already hooked

In this week’s onscreen pairings we didn’t know we needed: Ali Wong and Steven Yeun have signed on to star in a new series together, and of course, we’re already begging to be first in line to watch. The duo will reportedly lead and executive produce a 10-episode dramatic comedy, Deadline reports, with further details about the plot still being kept under wraps.

While we don’t know much, we do know that the upcoming project was pitched just last week, according to the outlet, and it’s already attracting some interested bidders, including streaming services Netflix, Amazon and Apple

Per Deadline, Lee Sung Jin will serve as its showrunner, writer and producer, best known for his work as a producer on Dave, a comedy series starring rapper Lil Dicky. 

It also won’t be the first time Wong and Yeun have worked together, previously teaming up to appear on animated series Tuca & Bertie, where they played the adorable bird couple Bertie and Speckle.

The news comes has as Yeun made Oscars history, becoming the first Asian-American nominated in the Best Actor category for his work in Lee Isaac Chung’s Minari. It also marks his return to TV, having held a title role in The Walking Dead for six seasons. 

Meanwhile, Wong has been starring in the sitcom American Housewife, as well as the animated series Big Mouth and Birds of Prey. The comedian and actress also, of course, starred in the Netflix film Always Be My Maybealongside Randall Park, which they co-wrote together. 

We may not know much yet, but one thing’s for sure: we’ll be tuning into this as soon as it drops.
