Sam Rockwell set something within us alight during his iconic Charlie’s Angels scene—you know the one, him smoking, aviator sunnies on, dancing to Pharoahe Monch’s “Simon Says”—and since that fateful first watch we’ve been completely smitten with the star.
Unsurprisingly, we’re not alone. His wife of 17 years, The White Lotus star, Leslie Bibb, is clearly just as besotted.
From their “cliché” meet cute to the somewhat surprising fact they’ve never married—at least to public knowledge—here’s everything you need to know about their relationship.
How Did Sam Rockwell And Leslie Bibb Meet?
Sam Rockwell and Leslie Bibb met in 2007 in the most iconic of Hollywood locations: the Chateau Marmont.
“We met in, like, the most cliché place, at the Chateau Marmont,” Bibb told Rosie O’Donell in a 2012 interview.
The Palm Royal actress recalls being at the venue for dinner when she spotted Rockwell who was staying there while filming Frost/Nixon in what we can only describe as a love at first sight moment.
“I turned around and I saw him,” Bibb said, “I just smiled and he smiled at me and I thought, ‘Oh no, what’s that?’ Sometimes you just get struck.”
In June 2008, the couple made their first official appearance together at the CineVegas film festival and the couple have become a regular on red carpets since.
Are Sam Rockwell And Leslie Bibb Together?
Yes, Rockwell and Bibb have been together since 2007. While the couple haven’t shied away from the spotlight—making frequent red carpet appearances together over the last 17 years, details on their relationship are scarce.
In 2018 Rockwell spoke to Us Weekly about Bibb with sweet admiration.
”She keeps me laughing.… She’s really talented and funny herself. She reminds me of a young Mary Tyler Moore.”
While the couple don’t appear to have any children together, they do share an adorable pup named Gus.
Sam Rockwell’s The White Lotus Cameo
The White Lotus fans were delighted to a surprise cameo from Sam Rockwell in episode five of the third season which featured a wildly entertaining monologue from the star.
Given Bibb’s role as a main character in this season, playing Kate, we can’t help but wonder if she scored Rockwell the gig.
After all, the couple have previously revealed they have a “three-week rule” in their relationship to avoid long periods apart due to conflicting filming schedules.
“We have a two- to three-week rule and then we see each other,” Rockwell told Us Weekly in 2018. “You get too independent if it’s four weeks, five weeks.”
In 2024 (we can only guess during the filming for White Lotus’ third season) Bibb posted to Instagram noting they’d made an exception to their rule.
“Reunited…and it feels so good…” she wrote in the caption. “Sometime rules have to be broken and our three week rule had to be three months because of our work schedules and gawddamn nothin’ feels as good as being back with [Sam Rockwell].”
Could this be what led them both to Thailand? Who knows, but its made for one of this season’s most iconic moments thus far.
