Red Bull racer and four-time F1 World Champion, Max Verstappen, is no stranger to being placed on a podium. But while his fans may consider themselves the driver’s biggest supporters, girlfriend Kelly Piquet is watching from the paddock, cheering her partner on.
The Belgian-Dutch competitor was just 17 when he entered his first F1 race, marking his 2005 debut as one for the history books when he became the competition’s youngest driver ever. But it was in 2021, when Verstappen took home his first F1 title that his career truly began to soar.
It was also in 2021 that Kelly Piquet and Max Verstappen went Instagram-official, with a New Year’s post on the Red Bull racer’s socials captioned: “Let’s make 2021 a year to remember in many ways. Wishing you all the success, love and happiness just as I found mine.”
Since then, the two have remained steadfast, with Piquet playing an increasingly supportive role as Verstappen readies himself for the upcoming F1 season.

Who Is Kelly Piquet?
Model Kelly Piquet, 36, was born in Germany but spent most of her childhood in the South of France with her Dutch model mother, until her teens, when she moved to her father’s homeland of Brazil.
After completing her schooling between England and Brazil, Piquet moved to New York where she studied international relations, eventually ending up in the fashion industry.
But while she may have followed in her mother’s modelling footsteps, she’s always had a strong interest in her father’s career, too. A revered F1 racer, Piquet’s father was a three-time World Champion and is considered to be up there with some of the greatest drivers of all time.
In a 2023 profile with Vogue Netherlands, Piquet opened up about her relationship with Verstappen and how the success of their partnership has been shaped by her deep understanding of the sport and its related stressors.
“This world is so familiar to me, I know what those guys are going through,” she said of her experience growing up around the paddock.
Not only does Piquet come from a strong F1 family legacy, but her brother, Nelson Jr., is also a former F1 racer – though he now competes in the stock car circuit.
Who Did Kelly Piquet Have A Baby With?
Piquet shares a six year old daughter with Russian race car driver Daniil Kvyat. Their child was born in 2019, six months before the pair decided to end their two year relationship and continue on as co-parents.
In December 2024, Piquet and Verstappen announced they were expecting their first child together in a heart-warming Instagram post captioned: “Mini Verstappen-Piquet on the way. We couldn’t be happier with our little miracle.”
