Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 couple Jamie and Dave were one of the first to head down the aisle looking genuinely happy with who they’d been partnered up with.
From the moment Jamie eyed Dave’s heavily-tattooed body to their instant spark and free-flowing reception banter, the audience could almost hear the experts rubbing their hands together with glee at finally being able to nail a well-matched unison.
Naturally, as the show has progressed, so did people’s fondness for the couple, with the internet desperately searching for any clues as to whether their golden pair make it out of the experiment and into a real world romance.
But as with any reality television series, the end result is often kept from the public’s prying eyes until the final episodes have aired, maintaining an air of mystery just thick enough to keep audiences on the hook to find out.
However, just when we thought we’d witnessed the birth of the next MAFS golden couple, a shocking twist in the reality fairytale caused our high hopes to fall to an all-time low (more on that below).
Are MAFS 2025 Jamie & Dave Still Together?
At the final vows ceremony, both Jamie and Dave decided to stay together. But, it wasn’t without Jamie sharing her concerns over Dave’s past hesitations (particularly when it comes to saying those three little words).
“By the time we reached Retreat, my feelings for you had grown so much. Saying ‘I love you’ felt so right and so natural. Even though you didn’t say it back, it didn’t change how I felt. I was happy to be in my feels fully and unapologetically,” she said during the ceremony.
“But during Feedback Week our intimacy issues came to light and unfortunately that also uncovered something deeper: that your romantic feelings weren’t progressing in the way I hoped,” Jamie recalled. “It made me question if I’d really fallen in love with you or just the idea of you.”
Ultimately, Jamie decided Dave and the feelings she had developed were worth fighting for beyond the experiment.
“So yes, I do want to take this relationship beyond the experiment because I don’t think it’s the end of our story. In fact, it may just be the beginning.”
Dave clearly agreed, sealing the deal with a kiss and picking up his wife before saying: “”Let’s go my little backpack.”
“This experiment’s taught me so much about myself and her. I feel like to me, Jamie is someone I value very much in my life,” Dave then added.
What lies beyond the show may be another story. Rumours have been circling that a split is imminent post-show with Woman’s Day also reporting the MAFS bride was spotted out in Melbourne with a Dave look-alike.
We’ll have to wait and see.
What Happened To Dave & Jamie?
After the events of intimacy week, and their ongoing chemistry and connection as evident in their commitment ceremony moments, it was certainly a shock to the system to see a rapid 180 occur between these two. Upon reflection, it might have been too-much-too-soon for the seemingly loved-up pair, because it was after the event’s of that week that things started to take a downwards turn.
Despite some wholesomely cute couple shots of Jamie and Dave circulating online soon after, the couple have appeared more strained than ever.
The aptly named Feedback Week provided much to ponder for Dave after he became increasingly frustrated with Jamie’s insistence on intimacy being the make or break of the relationship.
“When it is constantly me, it starts to make me feel an imbalance. I want to know we both want to be with each other that way. Do you maybe have doubts?” Jamie asked, opening the door for an answer she wasn’t happy to hear.
Dave answered with a simple “people’s sex drives are different,” causing Jamie to spiral and ask: “Are we having a lack of sex because we’re not in the love stage? Yes or no.” To which Dave responded, “Yes”. Oh dear.
If Jamie leaving the room immediately wasn’t indicator enough of where her head was at, she her comment to producers definitely was “This is the first time in the experiment I’ve questioned whether Dave and I will work.”
Things went from bad to worse, after Dave began spending a little too much time with walking red flag, Adrian, before being paired with Veronica for the partner swap week. Boy were the producers having fun with this one!
According to Daily Mail sources “the whole thing played out like a domino effect. Some people were genuinely looking for love, but others? They just wanted airtime.”
“Spending time with Veronica made him realise that things with Jamie just weren’t clicking,” the source added.
Producers thought that this would be the perfect opportunity to throw in a Homestays week – where Jamie, a famously non dog person – would finally get to meet her husband’s cherished fur baby.
I think we can all guess how things panned out from there, but just in case you need confirmation, there are these insider quotes from The Daily Mail to go off: “Jamie just couldn’t handle it. She was not a fan of Dave’s dog and couldn’t even be in the same household. That was her breaking point.”
What Happened After Final Vows?
Married At First Sight fans were offered a glimmer of hope after the couple appeared to reignite their flame during the show’s Final Vows, each agreeing to see how things played out away from the experiment – together.
But soon enough, rumours of a subsequent split started back up leaving us basically where we started in terms of whether these two are still together. The final answer? We’ll just have to wait and see what the reunion episodes reveal, says Jamie. “You’re going to have to wait another week,” she revealed to Yahoo. “I’m going to hold out until the reunion, and then you can ask me whatever question you want about how we made it work or didn’t work.”
