Whether it’s a rumoured new romance or working with an ex on one of Netflix’s most popular shows, Madelyn Cline is always the picture of poise when it comes to her love life.
The Outer Banks star has had a few high-profile relationships, most notably with her OBX co-star, Chase Stokes. But who is she dating now? We investigate.
Are Madelyn Cline And Pete Davidson Together?
In September of 2022 rumours began swirling of a romance between Madelyn Cline and Pete Davidson after they were spotted together at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
“Madelyn and Pete have been dating for several weeks but have grown close fairly quickly,” an insider told Us Weekly at the time.
A month later they were seen together again, this time at a Saturday Night Live after-party in New York.
Madelyn and Pete were spotted together a number of times before things fizzled out. It wasn’t until September of 2024 that she confirmed the split to Nylon, adding she would “rather not talk about their relationship.”
Madelyn hasn’t been spotted with anyone since, leading fans to believe she’s currently single.
Madelyn Cline & Jackson Guthy
In June of 2022 Madelyn was spotted with Musician Jackson Guthy. While she didn’t mention him by name, the actress did confirm to The Cut she shared a house with “her boyfriend” at the time.
Soon after, the Glass Onion star spoke to Cosmopolitan about her latest relationship, mentioning she was “happily taken” saying, “I’ve truly never been happier, and I feel very, very empowered.”
Did Chase Stokes And Madelyn Cline Date?
Madelyn and Chase met on the set for Netflix’s Outer Banks. Playing love interest in the series, it quickly became clear their on-screen chemistry was translated into real life.
Fans first became suspicious when they spotted the pair exchanging flirtatious comments on one another’s Instagram posts.
At one stage, Chase commenting on a portrait of Madelyn: ““Heart rate … decreasing … help.”
It wasn’t until June 2020 that the couple confirmed their status with an Instagram post of them sharing dinner on the beach and Chase captioning, “cats outta the bag [heart emoji]” Madelyn reshared the image with a sweet comment: “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up.”
The pair dated for over a year, sharing a series of cute couple pics in that time, but in November of 2021 sources confirmed they had officially split and many of the images were wiped from their accounts.
“Madelyn and Chase are no longer together,” the source said. “They were trying to work things out privately but broke up a couple of months ago.”
Naturally fans were in a panic the split would result in the either star leaving Outer Banks, but Madelyn quickly shut down rumours.
“Hi so I’m getting asked if s3 is my final season of obx,” she wrote in a since-deleted Instagram Story. “I will come back for as many seasons as they will have me. I love my job and there’s not a day that goes by that I’m not grateful for it, and for everyone who has watched it.”
Why Did Madelyn Cline & Chase Stokes Break Up?
Neither Madelyn nor Chase have spoken about why they broke up, but they have commented on continuing their working relationship on the set of Outer Banks.
Having split just months before shooting season three of the show, Chase told EW: “Mads and I have been working together now for 30 episodes, and we made a promise to each other before we even started dating that the work was always going to come first.”
Madelyn also added: “We had a working relationship before we had a personal relationship, and our job from day one has always been to leave the show better than we found it.”
