We may have been a little heartbroken when news of the Lonely Planet actor’s divorce from Miley Cyrus broke, but since things kicked off between Liam Hemsworth and his girlfriend Gabriella Brooks, he seems to have settled into is new found laid-back life quite nicely.
Dating rumours first started circling around December 2019, just a month after the actor was linked to Maddison Brown, and four months after his divorce was finalised in August that year.
Below is everything we know about their under-the-radar relationship so far.
Who Is Gabriella Brooks?
Gabriella Brooks is a 28-year-old Australian model whose career began at just 14. But before modelling came calling, Brooks attended the University of Sydney, where she studied archaeology and ancient history. Since then, her career has gone from strength to strength with the model working with brands such as YSL Beauty, Valentino and Chanel, just to name a few.
Fans of The 1975 might also recognise Brooks as the long-time girlfriend of frontman Matty Healy. The pair dated from 2015-2019, with Matty citing his chaotic lifestyle as the reason for their split in a 2020 interview with the Guardian.
“My twenties was f*king chaos and I didn’t live a domestic life so there are lots of things I’ve just not learned. I’m not emotionally very mature,” Healy revealed.
“There have been times when it does damage my relationship and I ask myself: ‘Why do I value my career so much?’ I’m trying to relinquish that idea. I want to have a period in my life when I’m not conflicted about it.”
If the rumours about when Liam Hemsworth and Gabriella Brooks first came together are true, then both parties would’ve just come out of long-term relationships before pairing up again with each other.
December 13, 2019: Liam Hemsworth & Gabriella Brooks First Spotted Together
Although it’s not exactly clear how the two first met, when images emerged of Hemsworth introducing Brooks to his parents at a lunch in Byron Bay – it was a clear sign the pair were getting serious.
At the time, sources told US Weekly, that the Liam was “happy to be moving on” after his public divorce.
“Liam feels comfortable with Gabriella,” the source said, before adding, “his family approves of her and really likes her, which is very important to him.”
That same sentiment was echoed by Liam’s sister-in-law, Elsa Pataky, when she spoke about her family’s close bond in an interview with Hola!.
“My brother-in-law, well… After a relationship that you’ve dedicated ten years to, he’s a little bit down, but he’s coping well, he’s a strong boy and he deserves the best, I think he deserves much better,” she said.
“You always find support in your family, and he’s joined at the hip with his brother [Chris], who has been there to give all the strength he needed.”

In an interview with People, the actor revealed he’d been passing the time with his girlfriend, Gabriella Brooks, in his (then) hometown of Phillip Island.
“It’s just a very mellow area where I grew up,” he said. “It’s quiet and it’s a beautiful spot. I’m able to see the ocean from my house.”

June 10, 2021: Hemsworth & Brooks’ First Official Appearance
In the couples first official appearance together, Brooks and Hemsworth were pictured alongside Chris and Elsa, and Matt Damon’s wife, Luciana Barroso at the Gold Dinner 2021.
The charity event was held as a fundraiser for Children’s mental health. In the caption, Hemsworth thanked the organisers for an amazing night.
