Rising star Carlos Alcaraz, 21, has been lauded as one to watch at this year’s Australian Open as he chases the history-making chance to become the youngest male in history to complete the career Grand Slam. Hailed as the next Rafael Nadal, the budding champion is just as likeable off the court as he is on it, recently sharing a post-match ritual that only makes us like him more.
“When I finish a tournament, it doesn’t matter if I win or not, I just want to get home to be with my family,” he told The Times after his history making Wimbledon win against Novak Djokovic in 2024.

In good news for those who are interested, it appears that Alcaraz is indeed single. At least for now.
He confirmed his relationship status back in June 2024 in an interview with The Times when he admitted he wasn’t doubled up quite yet.
“I am looking for someone,” he revealed, before explaining the drawbacks of a relentless professional touring schedule.
“It can be difficult as a tennis player to meet the right person because you are travelling all the time.”

Despite his single status, Alcaraz has previously been linked to fellow Spanish tennis player Maria Gonzalez Gimenez.
It seems that Gimenez shared more than just a romantic connection with her athletic beau.
According to Daily Mail, the rumoured couple also hailed from the same Spanish village, El Palmar, Murcia, and had been close friends since childhood.
While she keeps her private life largely under wraps, according to her social media accounts, Gimenez still lives in Spain where she’s recently graduated from a law degree at University of Murcia.
Although the pair never confirmed their relationship, Gimenez alluded to a breakup in a 2023 interview with Vogue where he spoke about the pitfalls of a life on the road.
“It’s complicated, never staying in one place,” he said.
“It’s hard to find the person who can share things with you if you’re always in different parts of the world.”
