Following the news that Sex And The City 3 would not go ahead with Kim Cattrall, Sarah Jessica Parker put forward a hilarious suggestion on who could step into her Manolo Blahniks.
Speaking to Ellen DeGeneres, SJP joked: “There’s a period of grief, a mourning process, and then perhaps we’ll be able to consider, say for instance, you playing Samantha.”
Ellen replied: That is me. I am a sexual beast. I talk about it a lot. I do it a lot. This is a façade. When you meet me as a real person out in the world, this is my talk show persona.”
And now, Cattrall has weighed in on the hilarious casting suggesting—and offered some names of her own to play Samantha.
“I am partial to @TheEllenShow but @Oprah was always my 1st .” Cattrall Tweeted.
“But then there are the goddess’s @TiffanyHaddish or @SofiaVergara So many fabulous actresses to choose from that will make Samantha their own!”
After her star making turn in Girl’s Trip, Haddish would be a stellar choice for Samantha. And the thought of Oprah sipping Cosmos (hopefully with Gayle in tow) is magical — but her schedule might be a tad busy with her hypothetical 2020 presidential run.
So here’s a wild thought: let’s leave the franchise alone for now and just make do with our beloved Sex And The City series box set.
