She’s been the ‘villain’ we love to watch on Netflix’s Selling Sunset, but Davina Potratz has just announced the shocking news that she has left The Oppenheim Group.
And while we speculated that she may have plans to open up her own agency, she revealed that she actually left the brokerage for its Beverly Hills competitor Douglas Elliman.
Confirming the news to People, the 42-year-old shared her excitement at the new chapter.
“I’m really excited to be part of Douglas Elliman and their very sophisticated and global new development division,” she said.
On why she took the role, she suggests that the firm made her an offer that she couldn’t refuse.
“My background is in new development sales and marketing, so this is just a wonderful opportunity for me… It’s just very in tune with my skills,” she explained.
Though they’ve come head-to-head on some isssues—like that contentious $75 million listing—former boss Jason Oppenheim had nothing but praise for Potratz.
“Davina has always been a tremendous asset and a valued agent at The Oppenheim Group, and she is also a friend whose career decisions I very much respect and support… I will always want the best for Davina,” he told People.
But despite leaving the company that the show centres around, the realtor shared that she’d like to remain a part of the hit show.
“I certainly hope that I’m still part of the cast,” she said.
On how she feels about her portrayal on Selling Sunset, she insists that there is a lot that viewers don’t get to see from her and that it can be difficult, but she’s still grateful for the experience.
“It’s a lot, but it’s also a huge blessing,” she said.
