This is no Lake House, but Sandra Bullock is looking for a new resident in her home by the sea, sadly sans Keanu Reeves.
While she has publicly announced that she is taking a step back from acting, it turns out that she’s looking to spend the free time to become a landlord. Yes, you can rent off of the Miss Congeniality star, and for a cheeky monthly rate of USD $30,000 (approximately AUD $44,000). With unobstructed water views and stunning amounts of natural light, the Academy Award winner is offering up a piece of the Los Angeles pie, if you and your bank account are willing to bite, of course.
Located in Malibu, the home boasts two bedrooms and two bathrooms within the 1300 square foot (approximately 270 square metre) bungalow. In fact, the home itself was originally built in 1958, but with Bullock’s touch, it has been graced with a contemporary remodel, seeing an addition of wide-plank hardwood floors, walls of glass and a brand-new kitchen, complete with an array of high-end appliances, as per Dirt. The lucky renter will also get to enjoy the property’s 24/7 guard-gated community, and neighbours among the likes of Halle Berry and even Bullock herself.
The Blind Side star scored herself the home in 2020 for a cool USD $5.3 million (approximately AUD $7.8 million), alongside her current home in the same gated community. While the home itself isn’t the biggest abode that you’d expect an A-list star to have, it has apparently worked perfectly for Bullock as her personal vacation home.
If you’re looking for a new rental, Bullock’s property boasts a walled and gated courtyard with an outdoor dining sectional couch, fire-pit, bar seating area and barbeque. In the home, the combined living and dining room opens through to glass sliding doors and onto a raised deck ideal for sunbathing.
The master bedroom also includes breathtaking ocean views and a master bathroom with dual sinks and a built-in bathtub to binge-watch your landlord’s best flicks with a glass of vino.
With over 30 years in the business, Bullock has built herself an impressive real estate portfolio, with no less than 15 properties to her name. Aside from her two homes in Malibu, the mother-of-two also owns a Beverly Hills estate, a ranch in Jackson, Wyoming, a Victorian mansion in New Orleans and a lakefront property in Austin, Texas, as well as a townhouse in New York City.
