They haven’t shared a TV screen together since Reese Witherspoon made a cameo on Friends in 2000, but now the Big Little Lies actress and Jennifer Aniston are joining forces for a new TV series.
The duo are working on a brand new drama about the world of morning TV shows in New York, E! News reports. Currently without a title, the series has just been picked up by Apple, which has ordered two seasons.
HBO’s former head of drama Michael Ellenberg is behind the project, according to The Guardian, with House of Cards writer Jay Carson behind the script and Aniston and Witherspoon on board as executive producers.
CNN’s Brian Stelter, who wrote Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV, is consulting on the script.
No official word on whether Aniston and Witherspoon will also star in the series, but we can easily imagine both of them as – very different – morning show hosts. Fingers crossed.
