Reese Witherspoon might be known for her roles in popular films such as Legally Blonde, Walk The Line and The Morning Wars, but her role at home is one of a mother.
Reese is the mother to three children, Ava, Deacon and Tennessee. While her youngest son, Tennessee, is still in school, her older two, Ava and Deacon, are forging creative paths of their own.

Ava Elizabeth Phillippe
Ava Phillippe is Reese’s oldest child, who she shares with ex-husband, Ryan Phillippe. Reese gave birth to Ava when she was just 23-years-old and has previously spoken about the challenges of being a young mother.
“To be completely candid, I was terrified,” Witherspoon told Drew Barrymore. during a discussion on The Drew Barrymore Show. “I got pregnant when I was 22 years old, and I didn’t know how to balance work and motherhood, you just do it … I was just like every other mom and dad trying to figure it out.”
Now, Ava is 24-years-old and it’s clear that she and her mother not only share a close bond but similar features.
In 2021, Reese spoke to Instyle about the similarities between her and her oldest child.
“I’m so proud of her. She really rolls with it. I’m sure it’s not easy looking exactly like your mother,” Witherspoon said.
Since graduated from US Berkeley, Ava has sold her artwork on Etsy and Society6, and modelled with brands including Pat McGrath, Beyonce’s Ivy Park and her mother’s line, Draper James.
Deacon Reese Phillippe
Deacon Phillippe is Reese’s second child, who she also shares with ex-husband, Ryan Phillippe. Deacon was born in 2003 and is now 20-years-old.
Last year, Deacon completed his high school education and his parents threw him a graduation ceremony in their backyard.
Reese marked the occassion with an Instagram post of her son, along with the caption, “So proud of the thoughtful, talented, kind & generous young man you have become. You light up our hearts and make us proud everyday.”
Deacon is also making his own mark in the entertainment industry, having released his own single in 2020 called ‘Long Run’ and has since released an album titled A New Earth.
Alongside music, Deacon also made his acting debut in the third season of Netflix’s Never Have I Ever. He is currently studying at New York University.
Tennessee James Toth
Tennessee Toth is Reese’s youngest child, who she shares with ex-husband, Jim Toth. Tennessee is now 11-years-old and while his mum keeps him largely out of the public eye, she has given us a few glimpses of his childhood on social media.
To celebrate his 11th Birthday, Reese posted a photograph of her son with the caption “Happy 11th Birthday to my wonderful son, Tenn! 💫,” read her caption. “I love your curiosity, your endless energy and your playful sense of humor. Everyday you make me think more about the world around us and dream even bigger. I 💙you so much, Buddy!”
