To some, fashion may seem like nothing more than chic couture, star-studded runway shows and stylish models but in reality, it is so much more.
Fans of both true crime and fashion will be pleased to hear that there is a new series set to satisfy both interests.
Enter: Last Looks.
Quibi’s new documentary series, narrated by Dakota Fanning, highlights the darker side of the fashion industry by covering some of its more notorious crimes. (Think: Netflix’s The Assassination of Gianni Versace as a form of inspiration.)
Fascinated? Below, we’ve rounded up everything you need to know about the series, from the true crime stories to where you can stream it in Australia.
What Can We Expect From Last Looks?
Last Looks investigates the real crimes that have been sewn into the fashion industry but are often never heard. Made up of 18 episodes, the documentary series brings a strong feminist lens to each story. Each episode follows the sequence of events that led to a particular crime but also explores broader thematic questions about society and culture.
Narrated by Dakota Fanning, the new series is filmed in a cinematic Neon-noir style and also features in-depth interviews, evocative recreations and immersive timelines that aim to shine a light on the real victims behind said fashion crimes.

Who True Crime Stories Will We See On Last Looks?
Last Looks covers a vast range of chill-inducing true crime stories including Anna Delvey, the faux heiress who scammed thousands of dollars from New York’s upper class—and who has another documentary about her, Inventing Anna.
Other subject include Patrizia Reggiani, whose nicknames changed from “Lady Gucci” to “Black Widow” after she was convicted of planning to kill her ex-husband and Gucci fashion brand heir, Maurizio Gucci, in 1998. The tragic cases of Vicki Morgan, model and the mistress of Alfred S. Bloomingdale who was murdered in 1983; Christa Worthington, a fashion writer who was killed in Cape Cod in 2002; and Sylvie Cachay, an aspiring fashion designer murdered in 2010 are also covered in the series.
