It’s the movie that made Anne Hathaway a household name and we are too embarrassed to say how many times we’ve seen it, but even mega-fans of The Princess Diaries probably don’t know this: the legendary Whitney Houston produced the film.
The iconic late singer was also a producer on the lesser-known sequel to the 2001 original: Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement.
The little-known piece of trivia was brought to light when Netflix, which has The Princess Diaries in its current selection, tweeted this:
Some more Princess Diaries trivia for you: the man who appears as Princess Mia Thermopolis’ late father is Anne Hathaway’s dad IRL. And one of the four cats who played Mia’s beloved pet actually belonged to the actress as well.
