This Will Eventually Be Princess Charlotte’s Job Description

Yes, she's only three

Princess Charlotte might only be three years old, but she’s already one of the most popular members of the royal family, known for her signature sass.

Whether it’s debuting her royal wave to photographers on the way to meeting her newborn brother, attacking a balloon wall on camera or telling the press at Prince Louis’ christening that they weren’t invited, she never fails to be the centre of attention.

This – we hasten to add – is for all the right reasons.

It’s hardly surprising therefore that the nation is already looking forward to the day she will take up an official role, with fans already questioning what her job will entail.

Unlike Zara Philips and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Charlotte reportedly won’t be able to forge her own career due to her proximity to the throne, but will instead be a royal full-time.

Currently fourth in line to the throne, Charlotte will always be one of the royal frontrunners, with her duties expected to get more important the closer she gets to the throne.

The Palace hasn’t announced Princess Charlotte’s duties as of yet, but judging by two royal women ahead of her born into similar roles, Princess Margaret and Princess Anne, Charlotte will play a key role.

It is thought that she will undertake a lot of official engagements, taking part in royal tours, making public appearances and becoming the patron for a selection of charities.

And as for her title? Princess Charlotte is expected to be made ‘Princess Royal’ in the future, a title currently held by Princess Anne. Charlotte is the next eligible person for the role, with the title traditionally given to the eldest daughter of a monarch.

Luckily, as she’s only three-years-old she’s got some time before her duties kick in. For now she just has to keep up that signature sass and those perfect curtsies.
