Ever since Meghan Markle was first linked to Prince Harry, the attention surrounding the couple has been paramount.
But following the royal wedding and Meghan’s transition into the Duchess of Sussex, the public’s interest in the 37-year-old has been relentless – so much so that Prince Harry is reportedly worried about his new wife and her safety.
According to Vanity Fair, Harry is becoming increasingly “uncomfortable” with the focus on Meghan.
“He worries there is too much hysteria around Meghan and he wants to row back a bit,” a source said.
Of course, Harry grew up with extreme public attention on his mother, Princess Diana, something heavily attributed to her untimely death in 1997, so it would be only natural that the prince would want to shelter the Duchess of Sussex.
To avoid the press, “they spend a lot of time in the Cotswolds, more than people realise,” a friend revealed.
“They are in the country way more than they are in London and they are enjoying a low-key and very domesticated start to married life.”
“Harry’s not around that much anymore. Meghan likes him to keep his diary clear at the weekends so they can be together in the countryside.”
“It’s very clear they want to be private and left alone,” one local told VF. “The property is in the middle of woodland and you wouldn’t know it was there. It is very remote which is why they like it. It’s like a fortress. There’s a huge security presence, you can’t get close.”
