While we’re sure he has quite the collection of accessories, there’s one in particular that Prince Harry is never without. The Duke of Sussex is often spotted wearing a silver and black patterned bangle, whether he’s out on a public engagement or on his wedding day.
We’ve often noticed him wearing the jewellery piece and wondered if it has any special significance, but it appears that the mystery has now been solved.
Prepare yourselves, because it’s pretty emotional.
The first time Harry was spotted wearing the accessory in public was at a polo match in 2001, though it’s that likely he got it before then.
Although it’s not been confirmed, it’s thought the prince acquired the bracelet during his trip to Africa shortly after Princess Diana died, according to HELLO!.
His brother Prince William has been spotted wearing a similar design, adding to their sentimental value.
It’s well known that the Duke is fond of the continent. In 2001, he told Town and Country: ‘I first came [to Africa] in 1997, straight after my mum died. My dad told my brother and me to pack our bags — we were going to Africa to get away from it all.’
We aren’t surprised that he never takes the bracelet off.
