He’s soon to become a grandfather for the fourth time, but it seems Prince Charles has grave concerns for the future of the next royal baby.
The Telegraph reports that during his recent royal tour to Ghana, Prince Charles shared, “I am about to have another grandchild actually. I suspect quite a few of you may too have grandchildren or will do soon.”
“It does seem to me insanity if we are going to bequeath this completely polluted, damaged and destroyed world to them,” he continued. “All grandchildren deserve a better future.”
Prince Charles has been a passionate advocate for the environment throughout his life, having established multiple sustainability initiatives, including The Prince’s Rainforest Project and the International Sustainability Unit.
Just this week his sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, divulged that their father used to send them on rubbish-picking expeditions during the school holidays, and has engrained in them the importance of looking after the environment.
