Pamela Anderson Opens Up About Why She Likes Ageing

Her perspective is very refreshing...

In her youth, Pamela Anderson was known for a career heavily based on her good looks โ€“ from playing Casey Parker as a regular on Baywatch, to modelling frequently for Playboy, to playing the glamorous Vallery Irons on V.I.P. However, now at the age of 48 years old, she has opened up in a recent interview with Wmagazine.com, saying that sheโ€™s not scared of ageing โ€“ that in fact, she really likes it.

One of the reasons she thinks itโ€™s exciting is due to the amazing women she has to look up to in her life.

โ€œI actually like ageing. I have great older female role models in my life, including my amazing mom, who have glitz, glamour, and all sorts of fun.โ€

It is particularly topical for her at the moment after recently playing the role of Jackie in a sci-fi short film called Connected. Her character is a spin-instructor in the future who is coming to terms with ageing in a technically advanced world, on the constant search to improve herself.

โ€œAgeing is something we all deal with. At a certain age, you can find yourself at a loss. Your children are grown. You may have gone through a divorce. Youโ€™re trying to find meaning. Whatโ€™s your purpose now? Youโ€™ve raised your kids, and now they think youโ€™re a little crazy, because youโ€™re trying to do all these self-help things.โ€

โ€œYou become distant from everybody. Youโ€™re searching for answers. If I do all these things to look younger โ€“ the creams, the classes, the supplements, the procedures โ€“ Iโ€™ll be more accepted by my kids, my friends, men. Youโ€™re dealing with so much loss at this age. It seems like everything is behind us, so whatโ€™s next? We took a lot of things for granted โ€“ youth, beauty. But now what?โ€

Though Anderson has gone through some difficult times recently herself, with a messy divorce last year leaving her feeling stressed and lacking confidence, she has since found herself in a much better place, finding happiness with who she is and feeling more comfortable with ageing. She said of her situation:

โ€œGetting older isnโ€™t the end. I know I have so much to look forward to.โ€
