If you loved One Tree Hill, you will love this news: key cast members are getting back together for a Lifetime holiday movie.
Deadline confirms that the film, titled The Christmas Contract, will star One Tree Hill stars Hilarie Burton, Robert Buckley, Danneel Ackles and Antwon Tanner, plus a musical appearance from Tyler Hilton.
Fans knew something was afoot when the One Tree Hill alum started posting on social media from the set of a “new project” last week, using the hashtag #Christmas2018. However, the posts were swiftly taken down (but you can still see them here – thanks, Digital Spy).
Thanks to their illicit Instagrams, we know that filming is taking place in Louisiana. Deadline also knows key details of the plot: in typical holiday movie style, it hinges on Burton’s character returning to her hometown for Christmas shortly after breaking up with her boyfriend, whose family also lives in the area.
After learning that her ex will be bringing his new girlfriend home for Christmas, Burton resolves to bring a fake partner, her friend’s brother Jack (played by Buckley) along for the ride. No surprises as to what happens next…
The original One Tree Hill ran for nine seasons from 2003 to 2012, and most notably starred Chad Michael Murray. Sadly, he doesn’t seem to be on board for The Christmas Contract.
