Prepare To Feel Nostalgic, Netflix’s New ‘Baby-Sitter’s Club’ Series Has Its First Trailer

Meet the new gang

Who doesn’t remember curling up as a kid flipping the pages of Ann M. Martin’s The Baby-Sitter’s Club (and then subsequently arguing with your friends over who was the Kristy, Stacey, Mary Anne, Claudia and Dawn?) Over 30 years later, the iconic 90s series is back, being told in the context of entirely new generation.

As a refresher, the original novels follow a group of friends who set up a babysitting service called The Baby-Sitters Club in their hometown, a fictional place in Connecticut called Stoneybrook. The club members start off aged around 12 and the books detail the trials and tribulations of being a teen, while also starting a business with your best girlfriends.

Familiar faces Alicia Silverstone and Mark Feuerstein will appear in the upcoming series, starring as Kristy’s mum Elizabeth Thomas and her love interest Watson Brewer. The iconic characters will consist of mostly of new actresses; Sophie Grace, Malia Baker, Momona Tamada, Shay Rudolph, and Xochitl Gomez.

The newest adaptation is not the first time Martin’s books have been given the screen treatment. It featured a 1990 HBO TV series and was adapted into a comedy-drama film in 1995.
