Not too big, not too small, but are they just right?

Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross LS, compact enough to park and just enough boot space for a small family.

Youโ€™re after: an SUV that is big enough, but you donโ€™t want it too small either. Boot space is important, but you donโ€™t want to be driving around in something as big as a Kluger. Small SUVs donโ€™t cut it though โ€“ thereโ€™s just not enough space for a growing family.

Enter the SUVs now coming out which are somewhere between small and mid-sized. They have bigger boot space, more interior space, but they arenโ€™t quite a mid-sized SUV. This week I tested the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross which is exactly this size: in between a small and a mid sized SUV.

It looks good, parks easily because itโ€™s not as big as other SUVs

Driving is good, as in, it gets the job done and you can drive safely from A to B without any concerns, but itโ€™s not spectacular. I can feel the tug of the steering wheel when Iโ€™m doing three-point turns, itโ€™s not as light as it should be. I can hear the engine loudly when I take off, so itโ€™s not as quiet as it could be.

Still, it feels solid and I feel confident. It looks good, parks easily because itโ€™s not as big as other SUVs and has Apple Carplay/Android Auto so you can hook into your phone apps from the multimedia system, plus itโ€™s super practical.
