Miranda Kerr’s PT On The One Diet That Made His Model Clients Gain Weight

He trains some of the world’s most famous physiques – models like Miranda Kerr, Candice Swanepoel and the whole Victoria’s Secret cohort – so it’s safe to say personal trainer Justin Gelband knows what works and what doesn’t.

The celebrity trainer has revealed the one fad diet he simply cannot abide, telling Business Insider that juicing has no place in his clients’ regimen.

“There’s a time and place for juice fasting – just not for weight loss,” he says. “If you’re on a yoga retreat in Bali, you’re meditating and doing yoga and you want to drink juices because you don’t want any heavy foods in your body, that’s fine.”

He goes on to describe how juicing actually made some of his model clients gain weight.

“At fashion week some models went on a juice diet and didn’t tell me,” he says. “Not one lost weight, some actually gained weight. That got me in big trouble.”

The take-home: there’s no such thing as a quick fix (or effective fad diet).
