It’s no secret that the Markle family are estranged, and considering Meghan’s father and half-sister run to the press every chance they get, we can’t blame the Duchess of Sussex for wanting to keep her family at an arm’s length.
It seems that with every passing day there is another layer added to the rift within the Markle family, the latest of which is a Vanity Fair report that claims Meghan has had just one conversation with her father, Thomas Markle, since her wedding with Prince Harry in May, and the call consisted of an ultimatum.
A royal source told Vanity Fair, “Meghan made it clear that they could only have a relationship if he kept his silence,” the friend close to Meghan continued, “She told him that he couldn’t speak to the press, plain and simple. But he keeps doing that, and so she feels that she cannot trust him.”
We don’t know when this conversation took place, but Thomas has already broken the one rule his daughter asked of him over the weekend, by sharing personal letters that Meghan had sent him over the years to The Daily Mail.
We’re going to go ahead and assume that that little move didn’t help father-daughter relations…
While Meghan’s father has claimed his daughter and the rest of the royal family have “frozen” him out since the wedding, we’d hazard a guess that the broken relationship probably has something to do with Thomas ignoring the one request his daughter has given him?
This close royal source has confirmed that until Thomas Markle can stay quiet, there will be no relationship, seem pretty simple…no?
