With the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle happening in just a few months’ time, everyone is itching to know who has been lucky enough to receive the all-exclusive invite.
With Harry’s popularity and Meghan’s Hollywood ties, there is no doubt that quite a few familiar faces will be present at one of the most anticipated weddings of 2018.
While no official list of A-lists has been confirmed, high bets are placed for these celebs to celebrate with royalty in the coming May month.
1. Amal and George Clooney
According to US Weekly, the couple will be in attendance at the royal wedding to witness Prince Harry and Meghan Markle say “I do”. The report comes after Amal’s hairdresser, Miguel Perez, confirmed he’ll also be attending one of the most anticipated weddings of the year. No word on whether Miguel, who also does Meghan’s hair, will style the bride-to-be for her big day, but we can expect Meghan to look stunning regardless.
2. Barack and Michelle Obama
It’s no secret that the Prince and the former POTUS have had a bromance for a while, so it’s quite likely that Barack and Michelle will snag a couple of spots on the invitation list.
3. Patrick J. Adams
On a scale of 1 – awkward, how awkward will it be for TV hubby to meet royal hubby? Regardless of the cringe-worthy ranking, Patrick J. Adams and the bride have had a great relationship, on and off set. So, if his congratulations to Meghan is anything to go by, we should expect to see him bowing to the future Duchess very soon.
4. Rick Hoffman, Sarah Rafferty, Gina Torres & Gabriel Macht
With one comes the lot. Meghan is likely to extend the invitation to her other Suits co-stars, who she’s been great friends with since 2011.
5. Victoria and David Beckham
The other British royal family received an invite to William and Kate’s wedding, so it’s likely they’ll make a re-appearance this wedding round. David has an established relationship with both Prince brothers from philanthropy and football organisations… and, well, it’s only appropriate that Posh meets the Poshest of all at this royal event.
6. Serena Williams
The question isn’t whether Serena will be attending. It’s whether she’ll be bridesmaid or not. One of Meghan’s closest gal pals and rumoured to be the match-maker that set the wedded couple together, the tennis pro will undoubtedly be donning a dress very different to her usual court attire.
7. Rowan Atkinson
That’s right – Mr. Bean. Who said these monarchial events were so prudent? Atkinson is known to have quite close relations with Prince Charles and will likely pull on a tux and some more sensible facial reactions for the upcoming wedding.
8. Rihanna
Harry and Rihanna joined forces in her native country of Barbados, celebrating 50 years of independence. This time, though, Queen RiRi will be the one taking a bow to her Royal Highness if she attends the May nuptials.
9. Joss Stone
The singer has a great relationship with the royal household, performing at Concert for Diana, made to celebrate Princess Diana’s 46th birthday in 2007. The groom-to-be also took the stage with Stone at the Sentebale charity concert in 2016, their friendship clearly long-standing and deserving of an invite!
10. Janina Gavankar
The True Blood actress and 15-year-long friend of Meghan has us begging the question: what type of bridesmaid dress will she be wearing?
11. Elton John
The mother of the groom and Elton had a profound friendship that definitely earns him a place at the wedding. He performed at Diana’s funeral ceremony, his song was performed at William and Kate’s wedding and so his relations with the family can’t go unnoticed. The musician sparked rumours of an invite after he rescheduled his tour dates – cancelling both the day of Harry and Meghan’s nuptials and the day after (worried about a hangover, Elton?).
12. Priyanka Chopra
Meghan and the Quantico star met a couple of years ago and have hit the ground running as friends since then. Chopra is most commonly known for her vocal attitude toward supporting Meghan after Vanity Fair focused on the bride-to-be’s royal romance all whilst stomping down on any of her achievements. How’s that for friendship goals?
13. The Spice Girls
Following news that Meghan Markle and Victoria Beckham have become friends (goals), Mel B spilt the beans that she and her former bandmates have been invited to the royal wedding… to perform!
