The Duchess was on hand to hand out the trophy to the winning team – which conveniently was her husband’s – and she wasn’t shy about planting a kiss on him after the match.

Meghan opted for the perfect summer dress for the event, wearing a denim midi by Carolina Herrera, a basket clutch by J Crew and nude stilettos – a brave choice on the grass.

Her go-to messy bun was back in action too.

The charity match, raising money for children in Africa saw Harry’s Sentebale St Regis team win 5-4 over Royal Salute.

Harry’s team captain and one of the world’s top polo players, Nacho Figueras, was also on hand to accept the trophy from the Duchess, and afterwards he described Meghan as “lovely” and “wonderful”.

“I’m very happy for her, for Harry,” Figueras told People. “They’re both lucky to have found each other and have this new chapter of their life.”

“They seem very, very happy,” he added.

And speaking of Harry’s skills on the field, Figueras says the royal played “very well”.

“Offensively he played well. Defensively he gave a great back shot for me to score the last goal which we really needed. It’s always the same when he starts at the beginning of the summer and his level of game keeps going up and up,” he said.

Figueras adds, “It was great that I played with Harry. We normally play against each other at this kind of event so I am very happy that we are now being able to play together. We had a good time. It was a good day for Sentebale, and we won which never hurts.”
