The enticing (albeit terrifying) premise of The Watcher has audiences understandably hooked, but it’s the very familiar, star-studded cast that gives it an edge. And while some big names (read: Naomi Watts, Mia Farrow and Jennifer Coolidge) stand out straight away, there’s one actor who fans can’t stop talking about: Matthew Del Negro.
Perhaps its because we’ve seen his face in many, many roles before, or perhaps it’s because his character Darren Dunn is technically responsible for selling the apparently cursed house to the show’s leads Nora and Dean Brannock. Or maybe, it’s actually because Del Negro’s appearance in the series is so fleeting that we just want more.
Well, we’ll happily oblige to provide that. Below, we deep dive into everything you need to know about the talented actor, including who his longtime partner is, and where you’ve seen him before.
Who is Matthew Del Negro’s partner?
Del Negro has been married to his long time partner, Deirdre Whelan Del Negro for 20 years. The pair wed in a private ceremony at Long Beach, New York in 2002.
After studying at St. Bonaventure University, Deidre, now 46, worked as an advertising sales manager at the WB network at the time of their wedding, per The New York Times.
Little more is known about their relationship given the pair tend to keep their personal life away from the cameras. That said, Deirdre has attended several red carpet events with her husband over the years.
What has Matthew Del Negro starred in?
Aside from his appearance in episode five of The Watcher, Del Negro has starred in a slew of famous television shows, including HBO’s The Sopranos where he played Brian Cammarata. He also starred in Teen Wolf as Rafael McCall, United States of Tara as Nick Hurley.
More recently, Del Negro appeared in Goliath as Danny Loomis, as well as Huge in France as Jason Alan Ross, and City on a Hill as Chris Caysen.
In terms of films, he joined Elizabeth Olsen in Wind River, and Limerence alongside Tammy Minoff.
Where is he from?
Del Negro was born in Mount Kisco, New York, in 1972. He grew up in Westchester County alongside his two older siblings.
His appearance in renowned series The Sopranos was enough to score him numerous roles in major television shows and several films over the last two decades. These days, he spends his time teaching acting classes in Santa Monica alongside his various onscreen gigs.
