Well, can you believe Married At First Sight is actually over for 2021? We certainly can’t. We felt like that season of MAFS went for a million years. From Bryce and Melissa’s tumultuous relationship to Bec and Jake’s tepid one, this has certainly been a SEASON.
Firstly, no one cared about anyone except for Bec and Jake, and Bryce and Melissa. And who can blame us? They were easily the most chaotic couples this season, between Bec and Jake’s ongoing yet seemingly boring relationship and Melissa/Bryce’s on-screen toxic behaviour.
Over to Bryce and Melissa. We watched back their highs and lows, from the secret girlfriend outside the experiment to their loved-up final vows. We finally see Melissa see the out-take footage of Bryce’s friends admitting to the secret girlfriend stuff, and her response is… weird. Well, essentially she sticks with Bryce as we all expected.
On the Bec and Jake front, Bec tells us that the New Years Kiss between Booka and Jake ended their relationship, she was jealous and it triggered her. But they seem pretty okay with each other… until the experts show footage of Bec, after she forgot to shut off her to-camera content from Perth when she was visiting her sick dog, of her kissing a random guy who was not Jake.
The best moment is by far when Bec tries to pass this ex she was kissing off as “her brother”.
In the end she comes clean and reveals it was an ex she called when she was upset about her sick dog, and that they had a kiss as a sort of reunion thing. Jake is understandably upset about the betrayal, as was the rest of Australia.
Things end on a high note, of course. Patrick and Belinda, the only real love story of this season of MAFS. It’s very cute but also who cares? We came here for the drama.
What a season of Married At First Sight, huh? That was truly chaotic. Until next year!
