There’s nothing that can boost your mood quite like an upcoming holiday, whether you prefer to indulge in some ‘R&R’ on the beaches of Bali or explore the bustling streets of Europe.

With the end of summer holidays drawing near, and a new season fast approaching, many travellers might me wondering which adventure to embark on next. We can all agree that the only way to cure post-holiday blues is to book another holiday, right?
The hardest decision of course, is picking a destination. Thankfully, leading online travel company, Luxury Escapes, has a solution for even the most indecisive traveller, unveiling their world-first ‘Holiday Lab.’
The interactive pop-up has been designed to help you find the perfect holiday, incorporating elements of touch, taste, and smell to calculate a selection of bespoke holiday offerings suited to your unique travel interests. Taste an assortment of spice-infused oils, be transported through a series of soundscapes, pick your ideal aroma with just one sniff, and more.
“The Holiday Lab offers visitors the chance to design their own dream holiday through a range of interactive and immersive sensory experiences, including touch, taste and sound” Luxury Escapes CEO Cameron Holland explains.
“As consumers engage with each experience, their responses are tracked through a custom-developed algorithm which helps to build the consumer’s personalised travel persona and profile, offering them a tailored ‘remedy’ for post-holiday blues.”
Unsurprisingly, Luxury Escapes vision and the needs of travellers align, and the numbers certainly don’t lie. Over 40% of Australians report feeling less positive after a holiday has ended and over 60% report feeling a ‘sense of dread’ on returning to the office. Contrastingly, more than 98% of Australians confirmed that their mood significantly improved when they had a holiday to look forward to.
Working alongside Luxury Escapes to design the space, the company enlisted the input of leading Australian doctor, mindfulness expert and founder of ‘Mindful in May,’ Dr. Elise Bialylew, who believes strongly in the positive benefits of travel.
“For those who are fortunate enough, travel can be a powerful way of boosting mental health; time off work to engage the brain in novelty is a potent way to re-energise, recharge and return to daily life with greater focus and enthusiasm.”
“The Holiday Lab concept offers a playful way to explore what time off looks like for every individual and… offers a creative solution at a time of year where we’re naturally seeking out our next trip.”
For those looking for a reprieve from the daily grind, the Holiday Lab’s oasis is the perfect opportunity to escape the ordinary and begin planning your next holiday. Your next adventure is only a taste, sniff or touch away!
The Holiday Lab is running from 11am-7pm until March 7 at 421 Bourke Street in Melbourne.
