We’re giddy with excitement for the release of the big-hearted indie flick Lady Bird, starring Saoirse Ronan.
The lively and hilarious coming-of-age story follows 17-year-old ‘Lady Bird’ as she navigates her Catholic education and relationship with her parents.
And now, we have yet another reason to look forward to the comedy-drama that critics are raving about.
From first time director Greta Gerwig, Lady Bird has just smashed a huge record on movie review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes.
Lady Bird boasts 170 positive reviews, making it the most-reviewed film to have a sterling 100 percent rating on the site. Previously, the record was held by the beloved Toy Story 2.
“That there has been such a warm reception is a dream come true,” Gerwig told Rotten Tomatoes.
“We are all on cloud nine and using our tomato emoji more than we ever thought possible,” the Frances Ha star added.
Lady Bird has been universally loved so far—not a single critic has disliked it.
As The Wall Street Journal puts it, “Once you’ve seen it-even while you’re watching it, with a grin stuck on your face-you want to give thanks for how wonderful it is, how wise and funny and full of grace.”
See you at the movies!
Lady Bird will be released in Australia February 15, 2018.
