Here’s some good news to sing about: Damien Chazelle, the director of Academy-Award winning musical La La Land, has a new musical TV series in the works. And it’s coming to Netflix.
Titled The Eddy, the eight-part musical drama revolves around a nightclub in modern-day Paris. The series promises to showcase the club owner, house band and the “chaotic city that surrounds them,” Netflix notes.
The Eddy boasts a stellar creative team, with six-time Grammy Award-winner Glen Ballard (known for his work on Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill and Michael Jackson’s Bad) writing the show’s original score.
At age 32, Chazelle became the youngest filmmaker ever to win an Academy Award for Best Director for Whiplash. The 2014 jazz drama is an absolute banger—go watch it now if you haven’t seen it (it might convince you to take up jazz drumming).
There’s no news on the cast of The Eddy yet, but we personally think it calls for another Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling reunion.
