Kylie Jenner is raising eyebrows over her latest parenting move, with the internet divided over her decision to pierce her five-month-old daughter Stormi Webster‘s ears.
The soon-to-be billionaire shared an adorable new video of Stormi to her Snapchat channel, with the caption, “the best kisses.”
But it wasn’t the mother-daughter smooch that fans took issue with. In the video, Stormi’s left ear faces the camera, visibly decorated with a tiny stud.
Earlier this month, fans also noticed Khloe Kardashian’s newborn, True Thompson appeared to be wearing earrings.
In true Kardashian-Jenner style, the new mum’s decision was scrutinised heavily by her millions of followers, with some Twitter user’s taking serious issue with Stormi’s pierced ears.
Though a hotly debated topic around the world, infant ear piercing is a common practice in many cultures particularly among those of Latin, Indian, African, and Middle Eastern heritage.
It’s also seen as a rite of passage, similar to baptism for families of the Catholic faith.
