Following a week of negative stories about tension between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Cambridge has broken her silence on her rumoured rival’s pregnancy shutting down reports of a royal feud.
Middleton stepped out for a during a public meet and greet outside Leicester University on Wednesday.
Asked by a fan if she was excited for “Meghan and her new baby”, Kate gushed: “Yes, absolutely. It’s such a special time to have all the kiddies … and a cousin for George and Charlotte as well, and Louis. So it will be really special.”
A video of the exchange was shared on a royal fan’s social media account.
In case you missed it, the Duchess of Cambridge and Sussex apparently shared a stressful moment before Meghan’s wedding to Prince Harry – leaving Kate feeling very distressed.
The incident allegedly took place when Middleton brought Princess Charlotte to her dress fitting before the big nuptials. According to The Telegraph, Kate “left in tears” afterward.
While we don’t know exactly what cause the tears, a source told the publication that the mother-of-three “had only just given birth to Prince Louis and was feeling quite emotional.” So it’s possible something or someone else besides Markle was responsible for these tears if they even happened.
“While there are some tensions behind the scenes, Kate is pretty unflappable and nothing has become bad enough to make Harry and Meghan want to move out,” a source said. “People are genuinely pleased to see them so happy.”
Yesterday, royal reporter Richard Palmer, shut down speculation that Harry and Meghan’s move to Windsor was due to a rift. Insisting, there’s “no big fallout” rather “Harry and Meghan spreading their wings.”
