There’s nothing we love more than a gripping new movie and Julianne Moore‘s upcoming film Bel Canto looks to be exactly that.
The hostage drama, based on Ann Patchett’s novel of the same name, follows a Japanese mogul (Ken Watanabe) who goes to South America for a prospective business venture.
While there, he attends a party where opera singer Roxane Coss (Moore) is set to perform. But the show doesn’t go as scheduled: a group of anti-government rebels with guns storm the event, taking hostages to use in exchange for freedom of their imprisoned peers.
“When they hear the beauty of your voice, perhaps they will find a solution,” the guerrilla leader says in the trailer, which depicts scenes sure to have you on the edge of your seat.
