When Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum announced their split earlier this year, the internet wept harder than Kim K that time she lost her diamond earring in the ocean.
But it turns out, the #Chenna shippers weren’t the only ones engaging in a little salt water therapy. Speaking to Cosmopolitan US, the 38-year-old admitted that her tears helped heal her broken heart.
“People are like, ‘How do you get through this?’” she told the publication. “I didn’t run away from my feelings. I let myself cry. I let myself grieve. This is one of those situations where I will see the light. The dawn is coming.”
In fact, that same dawn has led to her learning to love again. Not only is she back on the dating scene (she was recently spotted packing on the PDA with Steve Kazee), she’s also found a replacement main man – a rescue pup named Cosmo.
“He’s my new boyfriend,” she said of the Catahoula-Labrador mix. “He’s really sweet. He gives me lots of kisses.”
But as for the idea of soulmates, the mum-of-one hasn’t given up hope… yet.
“I do believe in love still, but I also believe it begins with really digging deep and learning how to love yourself. And then I think you sort of transmute that out to attract the right partner,” she explained. “I think that people who are meant to be sort of find each other.”
