Another season of Australia’s wildest reality show, I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here is on its way.
Hosted by Australian comedian Julia Morris, and for the first time, wildlife warrior, Robert Irwin, the celebrity contestants have finally been revealed.
Ever year, the show releases a series of clues about who might be entering the jungle. Below, we share all of this year’s clues and who they really were.
Who’s Joining The Cast Of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here Australia 2024?
Radio Queen: Brittany Hockley
Clue: “This radio queen is known for her rocky romances.”
Upon reading this clue, fans immediately thought of traditional radio hosts: Kate Langbroek, Amanda Keller, Jackie O? However, in late March rumours suggested the ‘radio queen’ could have originally hailed from the podcasting world, potentially either Brittany Hockley or Laura Byrne.
It turns out that Brittany Hockley has been confirmed to be entering the South African jungle, revealing the news on her radio show The Pick Up.
“Not sure I’ve ever been overwhelmed with so many feelings before,” Brittany shared after the announcement. “I’m excited, nervous, petrified, anxious and super pumped all at once! And somehow, I’m already hungry!”
AFL Legend: Peter Daicos
Clue: “An AFL Hall of Famer is dropping into the jungle. He’s a premiership winner too but can he dodge a python’s loving embrace?”
This clue was revealed to be legend Peter Daicos, known as the ‘Magician’ and ‘Macedonian Marvel’.
Daicos had an outstanding 549 goals across his 15 year career, and has been working as a speaker and commentator since his retirement.
“As an ex-sportsman, after having had a career in AFL, I’ve never been able to fill that void…This is actually quite nice. I’ve been trying to mentally and physically prepare myself for what’s ahead. I’m looking forward to the challenge. I feel it’s a bit of discovery for me too. First and foremost I see it as a huge experience and a challenge.”
International Comedian: Stephen K. Amos
Clue: “Loved by the royals, this international comedian will be dropping into the jungle. Let’s hope their stand-up works on crocodiles.”
Widespread rumour had names like comedian Michael McIntyre and Jack Whitehall being bandied around, but it turns out to be Stephen K Amos. He’s a BAFTA nominated and RTS award-winning comedian who has featured on many panel shows, and now I’m A Celeb.
Controversial TV Star: Michelle Bridges (EVICTED)
Clue: “A controversial TV star is heading into the jungle.”
Fans thought this could reference almost anyone from Married At First Sight, The Bachelor or even Australian Survivor. However, it’s actually personal trainer and Biggest Loser star Michelle Bridges.
As an influential fitness personality and national commentator on health and wellness, Bridges says she cannot wait to get into the jungle.
“There’s an audience who will remember me from The Biggest Loser, and I think there are still people who think that, when I walk into a room, I’m going to ask them to start doing burpees and push-ups which is just ridiculous, it’s not who I am. There’s more to me than being a trainer. It’ll be nice to show that there’s more to me than that.”
Gold Medallist: Ellie Cole
Clue: “A gold medallist is diverting from Paris to the African jungle. Word is, they’re a real trailblazer.”
This clue also has a lot of potential answers, with people guessing everyone from swimmer Ian Thorpe to runner, Cathy Freeman.
However, it’s Australia’s most decorated female Paralympic athlete, Ellie Cole. Boasting 17 Paralympic medals, four Commonwealth medals, three world titles and nine Pan Pacific gold medals, she’s aiming to test her mettle in the jungle.
“One of the things I love about the show is I see so much personal transformation from each contestant, and that’s certainly something I’ve been wanting to go through. It’s a challenge that you can’t find anywhere else!” she said.
TV Love Rat: Callum Hole
Clue: “A TV love rat is coming to the jungle.”
It’s been revealed that Love Island Australia and Love Island Games alum Callum Hole will be swapping the villa for the jungle. Luckily, he’s got his priorities in order about what to be afraid of in the wild.
“The biggest issue for me is probably not having a mirror at my disposal. I’ve got no mirrors, no hairspray, no hair products. That’s the main concern, innit. No variety in my outfits! I’m in beige all day, do you know what I mean?”
A Celebrity Chef: Khanh Ong
Clue: This celebrity cook dropping into the jungle has a flair for competition and is sure to cause a stir!”
A favourite from season 10 of MasterChef Australia, Khanh Ong will be bringing his food skills to the jungle. Having already starred on Australian Survivor he’s going to bring his survival skills to a new arena. As a foodie, you can bet his rucksack will be filled to the brim with seasonings.
“I want to take the most stuff in that anyone’s ever taken. We’re talking salt, that has to happen, I love lollies and I really want coffee, some spices, maybe just spice mix because then it’ll keep it interesting. If not, then cumin or smoked paprika – that makes everything taste good – and then, obviously, chocolate. Also, I might have to bring in hair dye… I don’t want people to think I’m not a natural pink.”
An International Stage Sensation: Tristan MacManus
Clue: “Which International Stage Sensation is ditching their famous family for the African jungle?”
As soon as you read ‘famous family’ the mind goes to the Kardashians. However, it’s unlikely that we’re going to see any of the KarJenners on this reality show.
Instead we’ll see TV and stage host, dancer, choreographer and former Studio 10 host Tristan MacManus swap family life for rugged nature. Having already starred on Dancing With The Stars and Strictly Come Dancing, this Irishman is no stranger to reality TV.
“I’m open to the adventure and I have a tendency not to worry about things until they’re actually happening to me and right in front of me, but I don’t like creepy crawlies, and I’m such a picky eater – since I was a kid – so everything’s going well for me!” he said.
A Glamourous Sports Star: Candice Warner (EVICTED)
Clue: “A glamorous sports star is heading into the jungle. She’s also been a headline-making cover girl.”
While some fans were convinced it would be Stephanie Rice, it turns out that professional Ironwoman and wife to Australian cricketer David Warner will be joining life in the jungle.
“The reason why I want to do it is because my daughters are getting to the age where they see dad and everything that he’s achieved, and it’s important that they have a really strong role model in their mum,” she said.
“They know how scared I am of everything – if I can show them what I’m made of and that, if you put your mind to something, as long as you give it a crack… it may help them to overcome their fears. If mum can do it, whatever it is in life that they may be scared of, they can do it too.”
A Mega Influencer: Skye Wheatley
Clue: “A mega influencer is coming into the jungle.”
Fans guessed it would be Skye Wheatley and they would be right! After winning over hearts in Big Brother 2014, Wheatley gained a massive online following with over 1 million people across her Instagram, TikTok and YouTube channels combined.
“I’m hoping the public doesn’t find me annoying because I’m going to cry, I’m going to scream, I’m going to freak out… I know I will. I’m probably more excited for my reaction because I feel like it’ll be hilarious – entertain the public – but would I say I’m excited to overcome my fears? Absolutely not.”
Hollywood Child Star: Frankie Muniz (VOLUNTARILY LEFT)
Clue: “A Hollywood Child Star is set to enter the jungle but are they prepared for the wild ride?”
It was nearly impossible to tease this one out, and it turns out that Malcom in the Middle star Frankie Muniz will be entering the Aussie jungle.
Muniz is known for his roles in Big Fat Liar and Agent Cody Banks, and was also the drummer for band Kingsfoil. Since leaving entertainment, he has since turned his sights on being an open-wheel racing driver.
Fast forward to the show, and Muniz was the first to say, ‘I’m a celebrity, get me out of here’.
“The weird part is, I’m not an emotional person because I’ve been so busy, I’m almost numb. But I’ve felt so many incredible feelings here with you guys,” he said, visibly emotional.
“My current situation with my wife and son is… I’m guilty of not noticing what they do for me.
“Hearing my wife say that my son is sad that I don’t play trucks with him, I realise I’ve been home so many days, and when I’m home I’m not present. And I’m so ready to be present.”
A Gold Logie-Winner: Denise Drysdale (EVICTED)
Clue: “This Gold Logie-winning national treasure of Australia is off to the African jungle.”
It turns out that Denise Drysdale is our Gold Logie winner, winning in 1975 and 76 respectively.
