One of Hollywood’s biggest scams has received the streaming treatment, with Apple TV+ releasing a new documentary titled Hollywood Con Queen.
The three-part series from Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Chris Smith – whose previous projects include Tiger King and Fyre – explores the incredible story of an international con artist impersonating the industry’s most powerful women.
Drawing attention worldwide, the scam was the subject of a highly successful podcast in 2020 titled Chameleon: Hollywood Con Queen, along with a number of other projects based on the story.

What Is The ‘Hollywood Con Queen’ Documentary About?
The docuseries follows a mysterious figure dubbed the ‘Con Queen’ as they impersonate the industry’s most powerful women, luring unsuspecting victims to Indonesia with the promise of a life-changing career opportunity.
“The ‘Con Queen’s marks exhaust their personal finances in pursuit of a big break while being exploited in a perverse psychological game spanning the globe,” reads the synopsis.
Targeting the likes of Kathleen Kennedy, Sherry Lansing, Amy Pascal, Wendi Deng Murdoch and Stacey Snider, the scam eventually drew the attention of The Hollywood Reporter’s investigative journalist Scott Johnson and dedicated private investigator Nicole Kotsianas.
The pair set out to find the truth, only to discover a story more strange than they could have imagined. So much so that Johnson went on to write a book about the whole ordeal, titled Hollywood Con Queen: The Hunt for an Evil Genius.
